NECO CBT system – National Examination Council Introduces CBT For NECO Objective Exams
National Examination Council (NECO) hereby announced the introduction of Computer Based Test also known as CBT in its Objective papers examination. The Chairman NECO Governing Board Dr. Paddy Njoku confirmed the latest development and stated that the CBT For NECO Objective Exams will start immediately as from the subsequent NECO Exams.
Dr. Paddy noted that the CBT will be introduced starting from the coming year and also urged parents/guardian and students to embrace the innovation as the one of the best ways to ameliorate academic decadence in the country.
He said he was impressed with the progress of the examination as students and teachers conducted themselves well. The chairman said that the visit was informed by the fact that today’s paper – Mathematics – was compulsory for all students.
“We will introduce CBT For NECO Objective Exams especially those subjects that will need a computer in the next exams, but some other subjects are either practicals or essay; so you cannot put everything under CBT” he said.
NECO Registrar, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, also affirmed that the council will use the CBT system in 2016.
This is coming a week after Head of National Office (HNO) of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Dr. Charlse Eguridu, said it will not be possible to fully adopt the CBT at the moment because of variables involved.
Finally the whole question goes down to you, What do you think about the latest development in NECO?
